AGI Industries

AGI Industries is a distributor of industrial fluid handling products, a systems packager and a specialty pump manufacturer, with its corporate office in Lafayette, Louisiana. The business traces to 1963, when founder Albert L. George set out to build a line of hydraulic tongs for the oil and gas industry and instead found local demand for fluid power products. It took the AGI Industries name in 1998 and has been employee-owned through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan established in 2003. The company is organized into three divisions, among them Hydroplex and AGI Packaged Pump Systems, and has expanded beyond pumps into valve automation, measurement instrumentation, preservation products, and electrical motors, drives and controls.

Pumps and fluid handling

The pump range covers centrifugal, positive displacement, chemical metering and injection, vapor recovery and specialty designs. Those lines serve onshore and offshore oil and gas, chemical and hydrocarbon processing, power generation, and pulp, paper and wood products.

Other represented lines include Circor, Blacoh, Allweiler, Vertiflo, Cascade, Sidewinder and Williams. Electrical and automation stock covers circuit breakers, switchboards, variable frequency drives, transformers and protective relay systems from ABB, GE, Danfoss, Baldor and WEG. Measurement and control lines run to valve automation and level, flow, pressure and temperature instruments from Bettis, Rotork, Badger Meter, Sigma-Netics and Winters.

Packaged systems and skids

AGI designs and fabricates turnkey skids for injection wells, production and test headers, meter runs, chemical injection and LACT units, using 3D CAD design software. Named field applications include automated water and CO2 injection floods, tank batteries, saltwater disposal wells, pressure vessels and separators, and power boilers.

The AGI Packaged Pump Systems division builds custom units for:

Service and repair

AGI is an authorized OEM repair center for Flowserve, Milton Roy, ARO, Circor and other manufacturers, servicing pumps, mechanical seals, mixers, valves and rotating equipment. Eight factory authorized regional service and repair centers handle shop rebuilds to OEM standard, while field crews work on pumps that cannot leave their installation, including refinery turnarounds and offshore platforms. Field service teams hold credentials for offshore platform work and have carried out international project work for operators and EPC contractors.

The company describes its repair approach as diagnosis before disassembly, identifying root cause rather than replacing the failed component alone. It states that factory authorization is earned on technician training to manufacturer specifications, OEM tooling, documented rebuild procedures and audit-ready QA records, with re-certification on a defined cycle. A separate engineering group, REAcT, takes on complex pump and system problems.
