Great Western Drilling

Great Western Drilling Company is a privately owned oil and gas exploration and production business founded in Midland, Texas in 1936. Once one of the largest contract drilling companies in the United States, it sold its rigs to focus on production and has grown into an independent producer. The company operates and participates in the production and acquisition of oil and gas reserves across multiple states, with offices and facilities in Midland, Fort Worth, Odessa, and Sundown, Texas, and Farmington and Lovington, New Mexico. Great Western holds a working interest in over 500 producing properties, nearly a third of which it operates, and has extensive experience with secondary recovery and waterfloods in the Permian Basin.
